Viña Puntí Ferrer: a Catalan-Chilean family winery in Rengo, Chile

Viña Puntí Ferrer is a family winery of Catalan origin, with its vineyard and cellar in Santa Amalia, Rengo, in the Cachapoal Valley (D.O. Rapel), producing bottled, bulk and private label wine for export to more than 20 markets across five continents.

This page explains who we are, where the family name comes from, where and how the wine is made, and what to expect if you buy from us, whether a single bottle or a full container.

From Catalonia to Chile

The Puntí Ferrer name came to Chile from Catalonia, and that root is still in the brand: this is a family winery. We put that origin first because it is part of who we are.

Santa Amalia, Rengo: vineyard and cellar

Our only estate today is Santa Amalia, in Rengo, Cachapoal Valley. The cellar sits in the same place, at Lote 28 B, Los Choapinos, Rengo. Having vineyard and cellar together means a visitor can see both the vines and the winemaking without travelling between sites. To learn more about the region, read Wines of the Cachapoal Valley.

Not every line is born in the same valley: each grape comes from where it performs best, and the technical sheet of every wine states its exact origin.

Who makes the wine

The winemaker at Viña Puntí Ferrer is Jorge Martínez. He leads the winemaking at the Santa Amalia cellar, from the everyday red to the clay-amphora wines of the Innovation series.

Seven lines, one standard

We work with seven lines, each designed for a different occasion:

What the critics say

Six of our wines have a published score: James Suckling (up to 93), Wine Enthusiast (up to 92), Vinous (91) and Tim Atkin MW (90, Best of Chile). The highest is the Serie Tinajas Red Blend 2024, with 93 points from James Suckling. Every score, with its vintage, is listed on Awards and scores.

What this means for a buyer

An importer buying Chilean wine needs to know who they are dealing with. With Puntí Ferrer you get a winery with a verifiable address, a named winemaker, its own vineyard and three ways to work together: bottled wine from our lines (bottled wine from Chile), bulk wine and private label and OEM wine. Everything is organised for importers on Chilean Wines for Importers.
