OEM Wine from Chile: Make and Bottle Under Your Brand

OEM wine from Chile: you bring the brand and the specification, we make, bottle and export from our winery in Rengo, from one pallet.

OEM wine from Chile: you own the brand, we make and bottle the wine

OEM wine means a producer makes and bottles wine to your specification and under your brand, and Viña Puntí Ferrer does exactly that from our winery in Santa Amalia, Rengo (Cachapoal Valley, D.O. Rapel), with minimum orders starting at one pallet per project. We are a family winery of Catalan origin that exports bottled and bulk wine to more than 20 markets on five continents.

This page explains what OEM wine is, how a project runs from brief to shipment, what the minimums are and who it suits. For the product tiers and packaging in detail, see our private label wine page.

OEM and private label: what is the difference?

In practice buyers use both words for the same result: a bottle of Chilean wine carrying your brand. The distinction matters when you plan the work.

  • Private label: you select a wine style and tier from the producer’s programme and put your brand on it. The focus is the shelf and the brand.
  • OEM: you bring a specification (style, origin, bottle, closure, label) and the producer manufactures to it. The focus is the production brief.

At Puntí Ferrer both run through the same five tiers, so an OEM brief is always built on a tier that fixes origin, packaging and minimum order.

How an OEM project works in six steps

  1. Brief. You tell us the destination market, wine style, tier and the number of pallets you have in mind.
  2. Sample. We propose wines from the tier that matches your brief and send samples.
  3. Artwork. You bring your brand; we adapt the artwork to the bottle format and to the labelling rules of the destination market.
  4. Bottling. The wine is bottled at our winery with the bottle, closure and capsule defined by the tier.
  5. Documents. We prepare the export documents the destination market requires.
  6. Shipment. We ship FOB Chilean port or Ex Works.

Five tiers, minimum from 4 pallets down to 1 pallet

The minimum per project depends on the tier. The standard format is 750 ml; other formats, such as 375 ml, on request.

Tier Origin Minimum per project
Entry Central Valley 4 pallets
Varietal Central Valley 3 pallets
Reserva Rapel, Aconcagua, Cachapoal 2 pallets
Gran Reserva Cachapoal 1 pallet
Premium Cachapoal 1 pallet

Who OEM wine suits

OEM works best for buyers who already know their market and need a producer that can deliver a finished bottle to a defined specification:

  • Importers and distributors in Asia who want their own brand rather than a producer’s label.
  • Retail chains building an own-brand range.
  • E-commerce and online sellers that need a small, repeatable first order.
  • Importers who combine bottled own-brand wine with bulk wine for their own bottling line.

What this means for a buyer comparing OEM suppliers

Compare suppliers on four things: the minimum per project, the origin behind each tier, what packaging is included, and whether the producer also controls the winery where the wine is bottled. Ask for the tier and packaging specification in writing before you ask for samples. To see the style of the wine itself, browse the Puntí Ferrer range or read our guide to bottled wine from Chile. In Spanish, the equivalent page is marca propia de vino en Chile.

Frequently asked questions

What is OEM wine?

OEM wine is wine made and bottled by a producer to your specification and sold under your brand.

What is the minimum order for OEM wine from Chile?

It depends on the tier: 4 pallets for Entry, 3 for Varietal, 2 for Reserva and 1 pallet for Gran Reserva and Premium.

Is OEM wine the same as private label?

The result is the same: a bottle with your brand. OEM starts from your specification, while private label usually starts from the producer’s range. At Puntí Ferrer both use the same five tiers.

Do you adapt my label to the destination market?

Yes. You bring your brand and we adapt the artwork to the bottle format and to the legal labelling requirements of the destination market.

Which Incoterms do you work with?

FOB Chilean port or Ex Works.
