How to Buy Bulk Wine from Chile: Step-by-Step Guide

How to buy bulk wine from Chile: brief, samples, Incoterm and flexitank loading, explained by a producer with its own winery in Cachapoal Valley.

To buy bulk wine from Chile, you send a short brief (variety, grade, volume, destination, timing), approve samples and analysis, confirm lot and Incoterm in writing, and the wine ships in a flexitank of about 24,000 litres per 20-foot container. This guide explains each step as Viña Puntí Ferrer, a producer with its own winery in Rengo, Cachapoal Valley, runs it.

What you can buy

Chile ships bulk wine in generic, varietal and reserve grades. From our winery and sourcing network we supply Cabernet Sauvignon, Carménère, Merlot, Syrah and Malbec; Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay; rosé; and red or white blends. Chilean Carménère is the one origin signature you cannot get from anywhere else. If your market needs Argentine origin, we also offer it: see bulk wine from Argentina.

The market in numbers

Chile exported 360.2 million litres of wine in total between January and July 2026, 13.3% less than a year earlier, according to customs data reported by Vinetur. Within that, bulk shipments to Spain rose 188%. In short: the total is falling, but demand for bulk wine is moving fast in specific markets, so it pays to book lots early.

According to Chilean customs data for 2025, Viña Puntí Ferrer is the number one Chilean supplier of bulk wine to Germany, Europe’s largest bulk market. We supply more than 8 million litres a year to over 20 markets.

Step by step: from enquiry to loading

  1. Brief. Variety, grade, volume, destination and timing. A short email or WhatsApp is enough to start.
  2. Samples and technical sheet. We send representative samples by courier with full analysis, so your lab and your buyer can approve the lot.
  3. Lot and terms. Quantity, Incoterm and shipping window are confirmed in writing before loading. FOB Chilean port is standard; CIF to destination is available on request.
  4. Loading and documents. The flexitank or ISO tank is loaded at the winery. Each lot ships with certificate of analysis, certificate of origin and the export certification required by the destination.
  5. Follow-up. We stay on the shipment until the wine arrives.

Flexitank or ISO tank

The standard format is one flexitank, about 24,000 litres in a 20-foot container, and that is also the minimum order. Larger programmes ship as several containers or as ISO tanks. Every lot is tasted and analysed in our own laboratory before it leaves the winery; winemaker Jorge Martínez leads production at Santa Amalia, the same team behind wines scored 93 by James Suckling and 90 by Tim Atkin MW.

Producer or broker?

Many suppliers listed for bulk wine from Chile are traders. We are a producer: our own vineyards and winery in Cachapoal Valley, plus a sourcing network across Chile and Argentina, so you buy from the winery that ships. Details of what we offer are on our bulk wine page (Spanish: vino a granel).

If you want your own brand

Bulk is not the only route. We can bottle under your label at our winery in Rengo, or ship bulk for bottling at destination. See private label wine and OEM wine from Chile, or the overview for importers.
